8 Hawaiian Islands to Choose From

Hawaii has 8 separate islands for visitors, which means 8 separate destinations. Each island has it’s own personality and offerings for visitors. Below we navigate a few of the numerous ways to experience Hawaii. There are also so many different ways to experience the “aloha” of the islands – from golf vacations, expedition cruising, adventure travel (manta ray snorkeling at night, scuba diving at a crater, helicopter rides over active volcanoes, ziplining, and so much more), island hopping with a small-group, or just relaxing on the beach with your family or spouse. We are the experts, so contact us when you’re ready to let Hawaii happen ðŸ˜Š

Hawaii for Families

Maui and the Big Island are our top recommendations for families. Maui is known for having the most beaches around the island, which means you can snorkel and swim to your heart's content. Both Maui and the Big Island have many activities and attractions that are family-friendly and available to do for multiple age groups. Things like snorkeling at Molokini Crater, swimming with turtles, driving the Road to Hana, watching the sunrise at Haleakala Volcano Summit, seeing black sand beaches, flying over lava of an active volcano, and snorkeling with Manta Rays!

Honua Kai Resort and Spa

Two 2-bedroom suites with ocean views. Suite configurations: 1 king bed, 2 twin beds

I LOVE this resort for families! It has a great water park and pool area and is located steps from the beach and some great snorkeling! I think you all will love spending time here also. There is also an on-site restaurant, so you all can enjoy some Mai Tais by the beach complimented with a delicious meal and not have to worry about driving!

Situated on world-famous Kaanapali North Beach, Honua Kai provides an unparalleled level of service and all the amenities of a luxury resort with expansive one, two, and three bedroom suites. Perhaps the greatest luxury of all is simply the space to spread out. Inside, the feel is that of a luxury Maui vacation home, graciously furnished in exotic wood and polished granite, and tastefully equipped with top of the line appliances. The gourmet kitchens contain everything you need to make a fantastic meal. Or simply make reservations at one of our spectacular restaurants.

Majestic Haleakala Sunrise Tour

A top rated and recommended tour for Maui. This sunrise is breathtaking and amazing! I highly recommend doing it the first day you get to Maui since your body will still be west coast time and waking up at 2:30 Maui time will feel like 7:30 for your body time.

Once-in-a-lifetime may be the only way to describe watching the sun slowly rise over Haleakala National Park and spill over onto the beautiful island of Maui.  After sunrise, we’ll take a short tour of the remainder of Haleakala National Park and the nearby ranch lands before ending with a delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet.

Maui Morning Snorkeling Tour to Molokini Crater & Turtle Town

Molokini crater is some of the best snorkeling on the islands. Swimming in the crater, the water is calm and clear. The coral and fish life you see below you are phenomonal! It’s a personal favorite of mine!  Imagine swimming in a sunken volcano that teems with thousands of fish, while splashing in water so crystal clear you can see for 100 feet.

Maui Hana Coast Day Trip

You cannot visit Maui and not drive the Road to Hana!! This and the Haleakala crater are the two best places to visit on the island. The road to Hana has some amazing stops and viewpoints along the way.
On this guided, full day tour of Hana, enjoy the diverse and tropical beauty of the famous Road to Hana. Stop for photos at roadside waterfalls and stunning black sand beaches, and even wrap around the rugged backside of Haleakala volcano. With an informative guide behind the wheel, this is one of the best ways to visit Hana—especially if you don’t want to drive!

Hawaii - The Big Island

Castle Halii Kai at Waikoloa

Two 2-bedroom suites with ocean views. Suite configurations: 1 king bed, 2 twin beds

This particular condo is not located right on the beach, but it is one of the best condo locations on the island for a quick, 5-minute drive to the beach! The pool area on the volcanic cliffs makes for some excellent views. And Waikoloa is known for having the best beaches on the Big Island.

At Castle Halii Kai at Waikoloa, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Hapuna Beach State Park and Waikoloa Beach Golf Course. After visiting the fitness center for a workout, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. An outdoor pool and a poolside bar are other highlights, and condos at this upscale property feature jetted tubs and kitchens. The comfortable beds and clean guestrooms get great marks from fellow travelers.

Volcanoes, Waterfalls, Sightseeing, History

A trip to the Big Island is not complete without visitng the Volcanoes National Park and seeing the black sand beaches. Going with a guide allows you appreciate what you’re viewing and seeing. Experience the beauty of its black-sand beaches, thundering waterfalls, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. If you’re lucky, find Hawaiian green sea turtles basking on the coast.

Kohala Waterfalls Small Group Adventure Tour

Mix a little bit of adventure time with yoru family. Delve into Hawaii’s history and prepare to get wet on this full-day waterfall adventure tour of the Big Island’s Kohala coast. Begin with a drive up the Kona coastline past lava flows, and take in sweeping views from the old Kohala Mule Station lookout. Rumble through the rugged landscape in an off-road vehicle and hike along the tunnels and aqueducts of a historic sugar plantation. Admire the seven Kohala waterfalls and cool off with a dip under the final cascade with a picnic lunch.

Morning Group Surf Lesson

Also, who goes to Hawaii and doesn’t have a surf lesson? This is a great way to end your vacation a day on the waves and a day at the beach together! You’ll never forget the thrill of standing up and riding your very first wave, and the entire experience is made even better when shared with family or friends.

Kauai

Princeville Resort in Princeville

Ocean Front room includes â–ª Lei greeting upon arrival.   â–ª Welcome refreshment.  â–ª Premium high-speedinternet.  â–ª Two in-room bottles of water per day

Driving from Lihue to Princeville, I always recommend people stop at Duke’s, which is located in Lihue. Duke’s is a famous Hawaii eatery. If you stop there, you have to order the Hula Pie! It’s AMAZING! The Princeville Resort is one of the most beautiful hotels on Kauai. The hotel has the best view on the island, hands down. I love enjoying sunsets at the bar or on the beach. Seriously, this is one of the most romantic hotels ever! In Hanalei, Postcards is a great place to have a romantic and delicious dinner. When we stay in Kauai, we usually stopped at Kalypso for their happy hour. They have the best coconut shrimp and great prices for Mai Tais and deals on Kona Brewing Co beers. I also recommend stopping by Tropical Tantrum for a beautiful hand-painted Hawaiian dress or shirt for your sunset dinner cruise! The North Store General Store (which is a gas station) has the best pizza on the island. Order a pizza after spending a day at the beach and pick it up on your way back to the resort.

Kauai Learn to Surf Lesson

You'll learn about ocean safety and the basics of surfing. You'll be riding your first wave in no time! The surf instructors are from Kauai and are big wave riders and many are competitive surfers.

Sunset Dinner Cruise Off the Na Pali Coast.. Climb aboard a spacious 65-foot catamaran and explore the famous coastline, complete with entertaining and educational stories about the sites along the way. Enjoy a delicious luau-style buffet dinner complete with beer, wine and Mai Tai cocktails. Then take in the beauty of a Kauai sunset along with a champagne toast to close a perfect evening.

Maui

Wailea Beach Resort Marriott Maui in Wailea

I love this hotel! It’s a great location, walking distance to white sand beaches and super romantic. You are also close to town to go out to dinner and explore. The Monkeypod restaurant in Lahaina has reasonable prices for amazing food that is super fresh that y’all would love! For a special night out, Lahaina Grill is a very romantic steakhouse that is popular with travelers.

Ocean view room with oversized lanai o Includes: â–ª  Adults-only pool  â–ª  Complimentary daily internet  â–ª  30 minutes personal photo session and package upgrade  â–ª  Daily Hawaiian cultural activities â–ª  1 hour bicycle rental (2 bikes per stay) â–ª  Bottled water (2 per day)  â–ª Welcome lei greeting upon arrival

Haleakala Maui Sunrise Tour

Note: I recommend doing this tour the very first day you arrive because you have to wake up so early and it’s easier to do that on your first day since you’re still on New Orleans time. And the view is the best way to start your honeymoon!

Feast at Mokapu Luau

Located within walking distance of your hotel so you won’t have to worry about driving after the bottomless Mai Tai’s!  Luau only takes place on Sundays and Tuesdays

This is the great Hawaii itinerary for your first time at the islands and a great starting point in the planning process!! On this itinerary there is allot of adventure mixed with relaxing afternoons and romance. I added every tour I recommend and want you to consider, but if you feel you want more free time, just let me know and we can modify the tours how you wish! If you’re looking at this itinerary and there’s a tour you want missing, I am also happy to add it! I look forward to helping you plan your honeymoon.

Honeymoon in Hawaii

Those looking to celebrate their honeymoon or anniversary in search of a romantic vacation will enjoy islands such as Kauai and Lanai. The garden island, Kauai, is a lush, secluded post-card perfect Hawaii for romance-seekers. Enjoying a sunset dinner cruise along the Na Pali coast while sipping a Mai-Tai is about as romantic as it gets! Travelers can also enjoy kayaking the Wailua River, snorkeling on the sunny-side of the island at Poipu Beach, hiking trails at Kokee State park, or even ziplining above Kauai’s lush valleys. There is something for everyone!
